Model: PRELUDE CC: 2258 Year: 96-02 Description: HONDA PRELUDE ENGINE The H22A VTEC engine most commonly came out in the Honda Prelude VTi-R but did make a few appearances in the Accord as well from 1994 to 2001. The H22A runs a DOHC, 16 valve, VTEC configuration. The VTEC system engages @ 5,000rpm before redlining @ 7,200rpm to produce 188hp (140kw) @ 6,800rpm and 158 ft.lb (214Nm) of torque @ 5,500rpm in Australian models. This engine does not commonly upgrade any previous Honda engine without a fair amount of work, although has been done on a few occasions into the EG and EK Civic. It should also be known that when replacing H22A engines, you must know whether it has cruise control or not. The non cruise control type can not be modified to accommodate it and electronically may require a bit of attention.  |
