Loading... Please wait...There is an alternative to secondhand import engines. BMI has the facilities, staff and equipment to recondition both petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engines are first fully taken apart to see whether the engine is in a position to be fully repaired. If the block and head are seen to be repairable, the work begins.
An engine rebuild kit is ordered and comes with new rings, pistons, gaskets, seals, tensioners and head bolts etc. which are later fitted to the engine. The block will get machined appropriately to repair the previous damage done. The bottom end will be first assembled with all the new parts. After this is completed the head will then be faced and fitted with either new or reconditioned internals. After this the front covers will be put onto the engine and all gears are put on. The process of rebuilding the engine is complete where it will now stay on the shelf available to the public.
Please note these engines come as a bare long engine so all basic accessories need to be swapped over before fitting. These items include but are not limited to the starter motor, alternator, harmonic balancer, timing covers, injector pump, injectors, injector lines, exhaust and inlet manifold, power steering pump and the air conditioning compressor.
